Forex Signals A Need For Greater Investor Information

The Forex market is a fascinating but little understood trading market. In recent years, currencies have undergone big shifts in their values. Hence, some Foreign Exchange traders have made huge gains. These gains have piqued the public’s interest in the Forex market. However, the Forex market is not for the uninitiated. This is why investors need to be aware of a number of key Forex signals.

Before the collapse of the U. S. Housing market, the U. S. Dollar was the strongest currency in the world. It remains the benchmark currency, but since the recession, it has been significantly devalued against other currencies. While the Australian dollar, for example, was formerly valued at around 75% of the U. S. Dollar, after the bubble burst it became worth more than 90 cents on each U. S. Dollar. A few fortunate people found themselves making a quick profit of over 10% as a consequence.

Then again, others who were exchanging Aussie dollars for U. S. Also lost 10% or more. This was conveniently overlooked by some unscrupulous companies who try to attract Forex traders to their schemes.

The Foreign Exchange market is far more complex than this simplistic example implies. Statistics can be used to obscure the facts just as well as they can be used to show them. Throw in the different ways that trading can be done and the Forex market can be a very dangerous market for the inexperienced.

If you are new to the Forex market you may not even know the difference between bi-lateral and trade weighted exchange rates, but they are fundamental to your understanding. A bi-lateral trade is simply one that is made between two currencies, just as you would do if you traveled overseas and exchanged your dollars for another country’s currency.

Trade weighted exchange rates are a little different. These are based on computations of the values of a number of currencies versus the value of another. When you trade U. S. Dollars on the Forex market, you can spread your dollar investment over a number of currencies instead of just one. If you choose to go this route, you should pay particular attention to the Trade Weighted exchange rates.

You also need to be aware of who you’re dealing with when you are playing the Forex market. There are so many scams being perpetrated online that the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued a warning to investors about them. In essence, the warning tells consumers never to trust a company that emphasizes only the huge gains they can give you and does not educate you in all aspects of the Forex market.

Forex signals of risk are as important as signals of gain. There is no such thing as a foolproof way of investing. Remember that before you enter the Forex or any other market. Education is your best defense against loss and fraud.
